"I enjoy your site so much. Do you have any old photos of the
Lauf Clinic-Hospital that was on 19th St? I worked there in 1952-1953 as a nurse.
One cold sandstomy night I went with Dr. Lauf to a dugout off out on a ranch somewhere to assist him in delivering a baby. I thought we would never get there because of the sandstorm..he could barely see the trail. Anyway..I was responsible for keeping his bag equiped..but I forgot to put the string in to tie the cord...so Dr. Lauf used his shoe string. I was horrified..and figured I would really get a lecture from him on the the way back to the hospital. Finally he said "next time you pack my bag please put in an extra pair of shoestrings". That was all he said all the way back.
He was a wonderful doctor to work with.
Thanking you in advance,"
