Rent houses scarce in town
1919 This week many people who came to our city with the intentions of renting houses so that they might enter their children in Lubbock's schools returned home without securing some.
Many of the towns on the South Plains are unable to take proper care of the increased number of pupils in their schools.
There are a few rent houses in the city at the present time, but something essential to the place is missing in the general run of rent houses left. Some are without water, while many are those in number which could by the expenditure of a few dollars be put into condition to occupy.
