1934 George H. Mahon, youthful district attorney of Colorado City, yesterday was selected by an overwhelming vote as the first representative from the newly-created nineteenth congressional district.

On the basis of returns from 24 of the 25 counties in the district 18 of which were complete, Mahon had piled up a lead of 16,276 votes over Judge Clark M. Mullican of Lubbock.

Mullican conceded his defeat early in the evening.

Latest returns gave Mahon 34,974, Mullican 18,699.
